Another sneak peek of an upcoming personal piece. It’s a thigh-up portrait so this is just a small snippit of it, but I’ve spent a long time on the face *trying* to catch the nuance of emotion and subtle value shifts. Bringing in color—I’m using a limited palette of neutral/low saturation tones with spots of vivid electric cyan/green and magenta/red which work together nicely in combination for the bruises and blood. The hair will have more color variation in time but right now I’m just focusing on the light and shape of it mostly.
Unfinished portion, but moving in the right direction I think.
